Explore Auckland
Auckland will host the 9th International Society of Construction Law Conference 2021; as New Zealand's largest city, it is also the international gateway to the rest of the country. Located in the North Island, Auckland's waterside location has fostered the locals' love affair with the sea, earning this place the nickname "City of Sails". Auckland has so much to see and do - there's plenty of entertainment for a few hours, a few days or a few weeks. Auckland is a beautiful city built around a stunning waterfront which has been developed into a vibrant entertainment area with a host of upmarket restaurants, bars and shops.
Other attractions include the magnificent Maritime Museum and the fascinating Antarctic Exhibition at Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World. Nearby, the Auckland War Memorial Museum gives a superb insight into history and culture from New Zealand and around the world. Auckland's Sky Tower, situated in the heart of the city, is a must-visit attraction with incredible views, a range of activities for thrill seekers and a wide range of dining options.
A short ferry ride from downtown Auckland will take you to the picturesque town of Devonport, a seaside village which is home to a multitude of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes.
A trip to Auckland would not be complete without a visit to Waiheke Island in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf. A 40 minute ferry journey from the city, Waiheke boasts a large number of vineyards and olive groves operating tours and tastings on the island. There are many beaches suitable for swimming and a diverse range of accommodation is available.
